Obviously that hasnt happened, the prices on items have barely shown a serious downward trend since reconnects were enabled. Ectos, rubies etc are hardly trading lower then a month ago nor is there suddenly a huge influx of unusual items
I did read the whole thread and most of what I read was idle speculation, ranting and uninformed talk. Everyone who used this exploit (if it exists, afaik I havent seen actual proof yet) needs to be permanently banned and their accounts deleted and if there is an exploit it needs to be fixed asap.

Well at least I can be fairly sure there aren't duped items on my accounts... the only trading I've done in the past month was to sell a few skill tomes and cheap mods, and to buy a couple of really cheap mods.
But... wow. I hope they can do something to punish the dupers.
And I hope they don't take too long to return the reconnect feature. I couldn't have gotten anywhere without it last weekend... I was disconnecting about 3 times per mission. Luckily it hasn't happened since but I hope it doesn't happen again without the reconnects.
Now that I think about it, there were some very high offers for rare minis last time I was trading - far higher than I was seeing just a month earlier. Now it makes more sense.

Same for me, the last thing I've boughten/traded for is my Elite Necro Tome for an Elite Assassin Tome about 2 weeks ago. Everything else has been farmed. Also, I NEED the reconnect feature back, 56k ftl.

Holy crap. This is insane.
Yes, there are bots, yes there is Ebay Gold, yes, there are entire businesses farming ingame stuff. But this is like 50,000-60,000 dollar/euro when ebayed.
I hope this is some kind of display bug, otherwise the high-end economy is screwed forever.
(I think back to the whole month I spent with buying/reselling DoA gemstones and farming to buy my highly wanted Tormented Staff. If this is true, it may be worthless soon)

The real world value of gold has been around ~$100/million for a while, it was up around ~$120/million for a while right after loot scaling was rolled out.
If anything loot scaling drove the real world value of gold up, and discouraged casual gold buyers from guying ^^

Right, but Gaile has already confirmed that diamonds will be used to some extent in GW:EN, and from the number of people in recent weeks spamming "WTB Trade Contracts" gems might be a valuable pre-GWEN investment commodity.

wat i dont get is that while it is clear (by pics of thousnds of armbracers in one trade) that armbracers are being cloned why are we not seeing the effects of cloned ectos, granted they have droped in price but if ppl are able to dupe them in the quantities of these armbracers wouldnt they liquify the ectos into the trader use the cash to buy intangible high end items (eg perfect crystalines and dwarven axes ect) rince and repeat (again i know ectos have been around longer and are easier to farm but still cloning is a crapload faster than farming as u clone stacks at a time) so again while ppl have had legit stacks of ectos ppl with cloned ones can easily liquify them (same deal with dimonds) so while cloning is there is it limited to armbracers or where are these cloned ectos goin???????????????????

You are wrong. Many people tested it, everything could be duplicated. Anet acted pretty fast as soon as guru staff and posters pm'ed vital info on how to make the exploit to Gaile and devs. They took down the bugged reconnect feature. If not OP, and our posters who uncovered this it could still go on and on.

Im guessing the first items to be duped were ecto's...everyone blamed HM and LS for ecto drop...but im starting to think the overnight(almost) from 12k to 6k then to 5.5k was because of this.

Large quantities of ectos are much less keen to suspicion than armbraces.
Also I guess the dupers were "smart" enough to keep a low profile on their duping so it would not be apparent, that's why only today, when this guy made this impossible offer, that duping became a reality to everybody.

Dear A.Net!
I need to apologize for my previous post!
What they did was wrong!
It was just to early for me to see that!
NOW that I can see clearly - I wish to state I fully support a rollback!
Thank you!
Ohh - just make sure you rollback for a MONTH at least!
(since I bought my FoW on the 14th and I hate it! And if we roll back I should get back my gold!)
I mean - icky sticky poo bad guys! We want justice!!!!
And their blood!
Thank you!
All the best from "A concerned citizen"!

You fail. Read more plz, moderators don't make up bs, and MORE IMPORTANTLY the PATCH which GAILE tells us IN THIS VERY TRHREAD DISABLED RECONNECTS is clearly not proof. At all. Nope. A-net patched nothing.

Thank you. It's important to put things into perspective, and the fact that something "could be duplicated" does not at all mean that it was duplicated. It's far more likely this is a recent phenomenon than one that has been around for a long while.

Oh, goodness, please don't think I was giving "investment advice" there. I simply asked if we were making an effort, with the expansion pack, to tie up loose ends with unused commodities like clay bricks and diamonds. The designers said "Yes, we think most will be used, if not all." I'm sure not suggesting you try to hedge against your old age retirement with gems or bricks!

trust me, you're not the only one getting offered by him.
imo, this is all a-net's fault. rolling back the game shows how incompetent a-net is in handling situations that do not suit them.
i guess this is why more people go to WoW. there they atleast have GM's walking around, controlling the situation. let's see, how many GM's have i seen in GW during my whole time i've been playing? 1. and that was gaile. in lion's arch id1. explaining lag issues.
gg anet, you fail at mmorpg's. tetris is more the like of you. bye.

A roll back won't be done. They would have to go back too far. I for one would be extremely pissed if they did. I have put alot of time in in the last 2 weeks earning money in preparation for GWEN.
